Charles G. Adams, Secretary and Treasurer of Auburn's Business Men's Association, and General Agent for The United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company.
......was born in Auburn, October 14th, 1859. His father, Joseph A. Adams, was a member of the Third New York Light Artillery during the Civil War, and subsequently, an architect and builder in Auburn. Charles G. Adams was educated in the public schools of Auburn, and at the age of twenty accepted a position as recording clerk in the office of the County Clerk. In 1890 he was appointed Deputy County Clerk, and in 1891 was elected County Clerk, serving two terms -- six years. He was then chosen by the Board of Directors as Secretary of the Business Men's Association. Mr. Adams is President of the Beethoven Coral Club, Chorister of Central Presbyterian Church Quartette, and identified with other musical organizations. A Republican in politics, he has served as secretary of the General Committee of the party, and is at present an Alderman representing the Sixth Ward. His religious connection is with the Central Presbyterian Church, in which he is an elder. He is also a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Mr. Adams was married to Frances A. Anthony, they have two children, Rosamonde and Karl.
