NOTABLE PEOPLE

Alonzo Glover Beardsley
Born 1820, Died 1906.

Educated as a lawyer, Alonzo G. Beardsley had extensive business connections. He was one of the organizers of the Oswego Starch Company in 1848, serving as secretary and treasurer for 50 years. He was on the board of directors of the Auburn Water Works for 40 years, and a director of the Cayuga County National Bank.

The house lived in by Alonzo Beardsley at 194 Genesee Street still stands.

The son of Hon. John Beardsley, Alonzo Beardsley also had two brothers, Nelson Beardsley and William C. Beardsley.
